In the light of Klopp's decision to leave at the end of the season, the main headache for the board will be to find suitable players for the club’s next manager. However, the team struggles with an urgent need to update several positions in attack and midfield. When considering attacking problems, it is important to note that Mohammed Salah is already 31 years old, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota showed themselves as jokers rather than regular starters, while Cody Gakpo still can’t find his place on the field. Another problem comes from the midfield, where there is a clear imbalance - with Dominic Szoboszlai and others leaning towards attack.

Potential Transfers of Liverpool Betting List

Bookmakers have long opened the market for some of the big names on the list. At the moment, judging by the odds given by PaddyPower, there are several main contenders for joining Liverpool in the next summer window.

Douglas Luiz5.50
Kaoru Mitoma13.00
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia13.50
Ollie Watkins15.00

Kalvin Phillips

Kalvin Phillips, the talented 28-year-old England midfielder who is currently playing in West Ham, has been a subject of interest for Liverpool for several years. His exceptional performances for Leeds and the England national team have caught the attention of several top clubs but his move to Manchester City was a clear failure with Pep Guardiola simply couldn't find a place for him in the squad. In Liverpool, the position of defensive midfielder does not have this amount of competition and he can be a valuable asset for Liverpool given his Premier League experience. Despite no concrete transfer talks, Phillips' potential transfer to Liverpool could significantly bolster their midfield options, bringing in a player known for his composure, passing ability, and defensive awareness.

Douglas Luiz

Another potential target for Liverpool, Douglas Luiz, the 25-year-old Brazilian attacking midfielder currently plying his trade at Aston Villa, has shown great potential in the Premier League. His versatility in midfield and ability to dictate the tempo of the game could make him a valuable addition to Liverpool's squad. Douglas Luiz's move to Anfield could bring added depth and quality to Liverpool’s midfield options but it is unclear whether there is a place for him given the plenty of options available on his position in the club. However, Aston Villa will possibly play in the Champions League next season and it is unlikely that one of the team's key players will be an easy target as Unai Emery wants to keep him.

Kaoru Mitoma

Liverpool's interest in Brighton's 26-year-old Japanese winger, Kaoru Mitom seems to be more symbolic given that the Japanese is yet to adapt to the Premier League, currently recovering from an injury that left him out of football for several months. Mitoma's pace, dribbling ability, and eye for goal could add a new dimension to Liverpool's attacking options but it is unlikely that Liverpool will pay a hefty sum to Brighton in case it will decide to move on with the negotiations. At the same time, if De Zerbi makes the appearance at Anfield as the new head coach, Mitoma will have more chances to join the biggest Premier League club.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

The 23-year-old Georgian winger from Napoli, has emerged as a potential target for most of the European top clubs amid his successful seasons in Italy. Known for his technical ability, vision, and crossing prowess, Kvaratskhelia's style of play could seriously boost Liverpool's attacking system and he is usually named as the most likely successor to Mo Salah. While no formal discussions have taken place, Kvaratskhelia joining the club is seen as a dream for most of the fans, given the unwillingness of Napoli to let him go. Liverpool rarely pays big sums even for top players and the price tag of 130 millions can scare the board away.

Ollie Watkins

The 28-year-old English star of Aston Villa, has garnered interest from Liverpool amid his incredible performance this season. Watkins' goal-scoring prowess, physical presence, and work rate make him an appealing prospect for most of the Premier League clubs. However, Ollie indicated that he is quite happy with the current project and is looking forward to the next season with Aston Villa will likely be featured in the Champions League.
