Allsvenskan (Sweden) Betting Odds

On the 2024 Allsvenskan (Sweden) fixtures page, you can find the complete schedule for the Allsvenskan, along with the best odds for upcoming events and detailed stats provided by UKClubSport.

Allsvenskan Outright Odds

Allsvenskan is the highest Swedish football league. Despite the not very high status of the championship (in the UEFA rating, at the moment, Sweden takes the 22nd place), the number of available bets on local matches is almost no different from the top leagues. One of the possible reasons is the tournament schedule, which coincides with the summer break in other championships.

In addition to bets on league games, bookmakers also accept outrights. The most popular of them is considered bets on the winner at the end of the season, i.e. Allsvenskan winner odds 2023. With six rounds to go before the end of the championship, bookmakers offer the following odds:

Allsvenskan Contenders Bet365 Odds
Malmö FF 1.60
IF Elfsborg 2.60
BK Häcken 13.00
Djurgårdens IF 251.00
Hammarby IF 1001.00
Kalmar FF 2501.00
IFK Norrköping 4501.00

With six rounds remaining until the end of the championship, bookmakers name Malmö FF and IF Elfsborg as the main Allsvenskan favourites. The gap between these clubs and the rest of the contenders is over three points, giving them one chance to slip up in the upcoming matches.

When comparing these two teams, the highest odds to win Allsvenskan are in favour of Malmö FF. This is largely due to the level of players. Two players from the team (Isaak Thelin and Sebastian Nanasi) are among the top 3 top scorers in the league, while two more (Oliver Berg and Sebastian Nanasi) are in the top 5 for assists. However, the gap between Malmö FF and IF Elfsborg is just one point. And in the last round, these clubs will face each other in a match that could determine the fate of the title.

Most Wins in Allsvenskan

Over its 99-year history, the top division of Swedish football has changed its competition format several times. Between 1982 and 1990, the champion was determined not by the results of the regular season, but by the playoffs that followed it. Because of this, there is a small confusion in the counting of championships, as in some seasons the team ranking first didn’t take the trophy.

Malmö FF is the most successful club in Sweden in terms of the number of titles. The FC has 22 victories in the tournament, with the latest one in 2021. The current Allsvenskan winner is BK Häcken, for which this is the first victory in the history of the tournament. The full list of tournament winners is in the table below:

Team Number of the Allsvenskan title wins
Malmö FF 22
IFK Göteborg 18
IFK Norrköping 13
AIK 12
Djurgårdens IF 12

Allsvenskan Relegation Odds 2023

In addition to bets on the tournament winner, there are other options for Allsvenskan outright odds, such as bets on a team that will be relegated at the end of the championship based on the final table results. Such a bet is usually called “To Be Relegated”.

According to the Allsvenskan rules, in addition to the two worst teams, the club ranking 14th can also be relegated if they lose the playoff matches against the third-placed team from Superettan (the second division of Sweden). Some bookmakers may only consider direct relegation, so we recommend checking the T&Cs of the bookmaker before placing your bet.

With six rounds left until the end, Varbergs BoIS FC has almost lost all chances of keeping its place in the league. Simultaneously, six teams within a range of six points could still theoretically take the 14th and 15th places.

Team Bet365 Odds
Varbergs BoIS FC 1.001
Degerfors IF 1.36
IF Brommapojkarna 2.75
IK Sirius 3.00
Halmstads BK  11.00
IFK Göteborg 13.00
AIK 15.00

About Allsvenskan Betting

Since 2008, Allsvenskan has been holding its seasons using the "spring-autumn" system with 16 participants. Each team plays against each other twice: once at home and once away. Based on the results of 30 rounds, the team that has gained the most points becomes the champion. The FCs that finish in the last two positions are relegated to a lower league, and they are replaced by the top two teams from Superettan. The team that finishes in 14th place plays two playoff matches against the third-placed team from Superettan. The winner of these matches earns a spot in Allsvenskan for the following year.

In case of a tie in points between two or more teams, the following criteria are evaluated in the specified order:

  • Goal difference (goals scored minus goals conceded);
  • Number of goals scored;
  • Points in head-to-head matches;
  • Goal difference in head-to-head matches;
  • Playoffs (if it’s necessary to determine the champion, relegation, or participation in European competitions).

Also at the end of the season, individual awards are presented to the best players and coach of the season. Below, you can check out the list of these awards and their winners from last year :

  • Player of the Year – Alexander Jeremejeff (BK Häcken);
  • Goalkeeper of the Year – Ricardo Friedrich (Kalmar FF);
  • Defender of the Year – Even Hovland (BK Häcken);
  • Midfielder of the Year – Mikkel Jensen (BK Häcken);
  • Striker of the Year – Alexander Jeremejeff (BK Häcken);
  • Breakthrough of the Year – Hugo Larsson (Malmö FF);
  • Coach of the Year – Per-Mathias Høgmo (BK Häcken).

Allsvenskan Markets on UKClubSport

The number of Allsvenskan odds is almost no different from top leagues. 1/X/2, O/U, Asian handicap, both teams to score (BTTS) and other extra markets are available for any championship match. Unfortunately, bookmakers rarely offer player props on Allsvenskan matches. As for outrights, there is also a choice: Allsvenskan winner odds, top 4 odds and relegation odds.

Factors to consider when betting on Allsvenskan

The first recommendation when betting on 1/X/2 markets is to often favour home teams. In the 2022 season, only two teams scored more points in away matches: BK Häcken (48.4% of points in home games) and Mjällby AIF (48.8%). This year, the trend has remained unchanged for many teams, both for the league favourites and underdogs: AIK (60.7%), IFK Göteborg (62.0%), Hammarby IF (65.7%), Degerfors IF (73.9%).

Another observation in Allsvenskan betting is that, in Sweden, many teams prefer open football. The average match score has reached 2.73 goals per game in the current season. At the same time, the average total exceeds 3.00 in games involving six clubs: BK Häcken, Degerfors IF, IF Brommapojkarna, Malmö FF, IK Sirius, Varbergs BoIS FC. Matches featuring BK Häcken are particularly noteworthy this season – in the majority of their games (58%), bets on Over 3.5 goals have been successful.
