Gary Wilson set for Ulster SBK Supersport debut with Wilson Craig

In News, Ulster SBK

UP-AND-COMER Gary Wilson will make the leap to the Ulster SBK championship next season as he joins Wilson Craig Racing.

The reigning and current Irish Minibike champ will take the reins of a Honda CBR600RR for Darren Gilpin’s squad after inking a deal to tackle the hotly-contested Supersport class.

“I had never sat on a 600 race bike until Darren gave me the chance to have a go at a track day at a very wet Bishopscourt back in September,” the 23-year-old said. “I was immediately hooked.  I really can’t believe that I have been given this opportunity to ride for such a reputable team as Wilson Craig Racing, and it still hasn’t sank in.

“It is the ideal set up for me as Darren and I are both from Ballyclare and we talk the same language, so communication won’t be a problem. I met with Darren, Joey Thompson and Davy Todd last week and I could not believe that I was sitting in the company of such stars, its unreal.

This is the best Christmas present I have ever had and I can’t thank the team enough for giving me this opportunity to kick start my career.”
