ADON Davie fended off hard charges from Ash Barnes and Charlie Atkins to take the final HEL Performance Junior Supersport win of the year today.
The JDF Racing ace picked up his fourth win of the season after emerging victorious from a three-way race-long battle with yesterday’s top contenders.
Davie lined up on pole, but it was SymCirrus rider Atkins – who won race one – who hit Paddock Hill first before Davie hit straight back at Druids. But by the second lap, it already looked like a three-way battle for the win as Barnes swept from third to first and joined the top three in a slight breakaway.
Davie took the outside line again on lap three of eight, but there was still nothing to choose between the front-runners as the race approached half distance with Jack Roach their closest follower, some two seconds back in fourth.
With three to go, Barnes slipped up the inside of Davie at Druids, but Davie swept back around the outside at Paddock the next time around. Barnes soon got back ahead as the battle continued until the last few corners, but Davie was able to power to victory some 0.077sec clear of Barnes’ Yamaha, as Atkins crossed the line third just 0.154sec off the win.
