TALAN Racing is set to return to the Bemsee paddock in 2019 with the support of Yamaha.
Riders Talan Skeels-Piggins and Andy Houghton will receive help from the leading Japanese manufacturer as part of its commitment to promoting and supporting disabled motorsports.
Two-time World paraplegic motorcycle race champ and Paralympian Skeel-Piggins has become one of the leading figures in the sport and has been instrumental in helping encourage fellow disabled motorcyclists via the Bike Experience initiative.
Now, with Yamaha’s support, he plans to return to race action next season aboard a new YZF-R6.
Team-mate Houghton, meanwhile, will also line up under the Talan Racing banner piloting an R1. The team will also contest the IBHR World Championship.
The news was revealed on stage by Yamaha at Motorcycle Live at the NEC over the weekend.
“As an official supported Yamaha team, the racers will benefit greatly by competing on the latest YZF-R1 & R6 sport bikes,” said Skeels-Piggins.
“This will enable the team to battle hard against all competitors and continue to produce podium and top ten performances and continue to show the public what we can do.”
Yamaha Motor UK Country Manager Lee Neesham added: “We’re proud to be supporting Talan Racing as they race not only for personal achievement but to inspire fellow disabled motorcyclists.”
