Ulster GP: Superbike pole for Hickman

SMITH’S Racing BMW man Peter Hickman bagged another pole position start this afternoon as he dominated the final fonaCAB Ulster Grand Prix Superbike qualifying.

After scorching ahead of the field in yesterday’s proceedings and dominating the earlier Superstock session today, the reigning Dundrod winner flew over 2.4sec clear of Silicone Kawasaki ace Dean Harrison, leaving Milenco by Padgetts’ Conor Cummins to line up third when this afternoon’s first Superbike race gets underway.

Ashcourt’s Lee Johnston will complete the four-strong front row while Honda Racing’s David Johnson, RK Racing’s Derek Sheils and Lee Jackson Air Conditioning-backed BMW man Phil Crowe round out row two.

Lining up eighth will be PreZ Racing’s Jamie Coward while Tyco BMW star Michael Dunlop will start from ninth ahead of Irishman Brian McCormack.
