ROAD racing star Horst Saiger is in a critical condition after crashing his Yamaha during testing at the Red Bull Ring this weekend.
The Austrian Isle of Man TT rider was at the Spielberg circuit on his IXS R1 when he went down hard at turn two, Remus, reportedly without any brakes.
A statement from Saiger Racing reads:
Unfortunately, we have to inform you, that Horst crashed very badly in the second turn after some laps. We don’t know what the technical problem was, but he had no brakes.
He is now in artificial coma because of his very bad injuries. He is in critical condition but stable.
He needs time and we have to wait and hope that everything comes well…
Everyone at UK Clubsport wishes Horst a speedy recovery.
