BIG bike racing is set to resume next month after Thundersport GB chiefs today revealed plans for their first round of 2020.
Dave Stewart and the team will officially kick off the season at Donington Park over the weekend July 24-26.
The news follows several weeks of uncertainty, with the leading organisation erring on the side of caution before it released any firm plans to get back on track.
But now chiefs have confirmed that as things stand, the first round will be held at the end of next month behind closed doors.
Riders will be allocated three tickets each, one for them and two for assistants, while junior riders will receive one extra pass to allow a second parent or guardian access.
A strict rule of two riders per garage will be enforced, unless riders are from the same household.
Chiefs also believe that restrictions on camping could be lifted by then, which would allow teams and riders to stay on-site as usual.
“At this time it is understood that overnight camping will be permitted, but parking up and social interaction with neighbouring teams must be done in accordance with any instructions issued by Thundersport GB and/or MSV Donington Park,” said a statement from the club today.
“Full information will be available approximately three weeks before the event, due to the ever changing situation with regard to government advice and regulations. Our remaining meetings are envisaged as also running to their original scheduled dates.”
