SCOTSMAN Lewis Nicol is set to ditch two wheels for three next season as he heads for the Sidecar paddock with a big name in his corner.

The Lightweight ace, who has previously racked a number of wins and podium finishes between Knockhill and Thundersport GB, has put aside solo ambitions as he looks to make his name in the outfit ranks.

But the teen won’t be going it alone – he’s poised to have 10-time World Sidecar champion Steve Webster MBE in his corner.

“After five successful years racing on two wheels, having raced at club and national levels, I will be making the switch to three wheels next season,” Nicol said.

“Iā€™m proud to announce my new team manager and mentor will be Steve Webster MBE. Steve will accompany the team to testing and race meetings with a view to fast tracking our teams progress, with a plan of competing at BSB events as soon as possible.”

Lewis is set to take the reins of a LCR Suzuki F600 machine, formerly run by dad and long-time Sidecar driver Craig…
