Southern 100: Harrison defends solo crown

In News, Roads, Southern 100

DEAN Harrison stamped his authority on the 2019 Southern 100 after completing a clean sweep with another Hunt’s Motorcycles Solo Championship win.

The Silicone Engineering ace led the entire nine-lap finale to lift his third Solo S100 title and take his sixth win of the week.

After another rocket start, Harrison led Rob Hodson and Ryan Kneen into the distance and just as the previous big bike races, he was off into the distance as the fight ensued for the remaining podium positions.

Hodson and Kneen soon broke away slightly from Sam West and Jamie Coward in their own battles, but local rider Kneen quickly found a way through on Hodson to take over second.

But the second place fight stayed tight through the entire scrap and with one to go, Kneen had just under half a second to work with over Hodson.

As Harrison cruised to his third Solo championship title in style, Kneen fended off Hodson’s last advances to bag second.
