Scarborough Borough Council quells Oliver’s Mount rumours

COUNCIL officials of Scarborough Borough have confirmed that Oliver’s Mount road racing events are still without an organiser, despite rumours on the contrary.

In response to a letter supposedly distributed by Auto 66 Club chiefs last week, which appeared to announce agreed dates for events at the circuit in 2019, the council has hit back.

A statement from Scarborough BC Communications Officer Gabrielle Jandzio reads:

“The reference to us confirming dates for next year is untrue. We are not working with or granting any permissions to Auto 66.

“We terminated the club’s licence to race last year and that hasn’t changed. We are still actively exploring opportunities with other parties to continue the venue’s important road racing legacy.”
