Racer Barber takes reigns as new Darley club official

In Darley Moor, News

DARLEY Moor chiefs have announced that one of their own racers, Andy Barber, has agreed to take up a new posting within the club as Assistant General Secretary.

A competitor and club member for over three decades, Barber will this season begin to take over some of the duties currently undertaken by current General Secretary Eddie Nelson.

Nelson is hoping to offload a portion of his many tasks, including legal and planning issues, as the club strives to plan for its future.

While Barber revealed he was delighted to be able to give back to Darley after so many years of enjoying it on-track, chairman Don Ryder admitted the induction of new staff would help tremendously.

“It is really good to get some more younger blood in to help out with the huge task of running the club on a day to day basis,” said Ryder.

“We all take this opportunity to wish Andy every success in his new, difficult and different role within the Club.”
