HONDA C90 riders will be forced to wait for another chance to duke it out on track after Plop Enduro chiefs have today cancelled the upcoming Anglesey meeting.

The round, set to run on September 19, has been called off amid growing fears of the coronavirus pandemic and its affect on the North West and North Wales regions.

A statement from race organisers reads:

In light of the Welsh Government’s latest Coronavirus statement last week, and after consulting with the Anglesey Circuit management this morning, its unfortunately had to be agreed that we cancel the planned Plop Enduro on 19th September.

This decision comes in the light of current concerns of an increase in Coronavirus both in England and North Wales, and the differing guidelines of the Welsh Government’s stricter Covid-19 restrictions which are presently still banning sporting events involving more than 30 people.

Obviously the size of our events, and the number of people involved, far exceed these present guidelines regarding mass gatherings which unfortunately makes the holding of the event untenable.

The news comes less than 24 hours after the Wirral 100 Club was also forced to cancel its Anglesey round for the very same reason.
