DEAN Harrison added to his win tally with another victory today after beating Davey Todd to lift the Spring Cup trophy.

The Silicone Engineering Racing rider, who won the last Spring Cup battle in 2017, defended his title with nearly five seconds in the bag over Wilson Craig Racing’s late signing.

While Lee Johnston was missing from the front row as Harrison lined up on pole next to Mike Norbury, it was second-row starter Todd who launched his Honda into contention as the lights went out.

With the pack trailing in their wake, the two diced for much of the opening lap as Harrison eked out a slender lead over his fellow North Yorkshireman.

And it looked like Todd was hanging on, but Harrison stuck in a few fast laps to stretch his advantage and by half distance, he had 3.5sec in the bag. The reigning Senior TT winner continued to pull away as he took the chequered flag by 4.771sec over Todd, with DC Racing’s Norbury third some 3.6sec further adrift.
