JAMES Hind clinched the ACU 250GP National championship with victory at Oulton Park this weekend as he ended the season with an eight-race win streak.

The 19-year-old capped off his campaign with a dominant win over Chris Moore and his nearest title rival Bruce Dunn as he completed 2019 with 13 wins from 16 starts.

Hind, who shot into the spotlight by destroying the Lightweight class at the Manx Grand Prix less than five weeks ago, qualified on pole early Saturday afternoon by an astonishing 2.3sec with JL Exhausts rider Moore and Bilstein UK’s Dunne in his wake.

On a drying track for the weekend’s one and only race to decide the new national champ, the teen led from lights-to-flag as Moore could do nothing but hold second ahead of Dunne, who grabbed the final rostrum spot from Simon Hunt and fell 23 points shy of the title.

While the 125GP National crown had already gone to Phil Atkinson back at Anglesey, Bryn Taff Racing’s Bryn Owen led the 125 charge after edging Gary Arden to the chequered flag by a mere 0.176sec.
