The 21-year-old defensive midfielder debuted in the Premier League for Brighton in the 2021/22 season, but truly made a name for himself this past season. The young Ecuadorian played 37 matches in the 2022/23 campaign, in which he scored one goal and provided one assist. However, his value on the field is not solely measured by these statistics. The volume and quality of his work for disrupting opponent attacks in Brighton impressed many fans and experts. So after the season ended, it became clear that Caicedo will certainly move to one of the top clubs this summer. Notably, Caicedo has not won any trophies at the senior level in his career so far, so it's obvious he will also aim to join an ambitious club.

Caicedo's contract with Brighton runs until June 2027, so it's logical that the club will demand a substantial compensation for their key player.

Moises Caideco has signed for Chelsea in a transfer worth £100 million plus £15 million in add-ons. If the performance-related bonuses are met, the midfielder would become the most expensive transfer in the history of British football. The Ecuador international has signed a contract with the Blues until 2031.

List of latest Moises Caicedo transfer odds

According to bookmakers, Chelsea is the clear favourite, and this is reflected in the Moises Caicedo next club odds. Nevertheless, bookmakers do not rule out that Brighton will still fail to get the desired amount for the footballer, and he will start the new season with his current club. Let's look at all the Moises Caicedo transfer odds.

Chelsea

Chelsea is indeed the main contender for Caicedo, as they see him as a possible replacement for Conor Gallagher, who may leave the club. Negotiations for the 21-year-old Ecuadorian have been ongoing for a while, but the parties are still far from reaching a compromise. Brighton has offered Chelsea two options: either selling the midfielder for £100 million or exchanging him for 20-year-old defender Levi Colwill with additional payment from the Chelsea club. Neither of these options satisfies Chelsea, as they consider the price to be inflated, and Mauricio Pochettino does not want to let go of Levi Colwill, considering him one of the best defenders in England in his age group.

However, it is reported that Chelsea is willing to make an improved offer soon. It is likely that after lengthy negotiations, the clubs will eventually shake hands.

To stay at Brighton

At the same time, bookmakers fairly highly rate the likelihood that Caicedo will stay at Brighton at least until winter. The club is not in a hurry to accept Chelsea's offer and is willing to negotiate until the final hours of the transfer window. At the same time, the player wants to move to Chelsea and was extremely upset that Brighton turned down the London club's £75 million + bonuses offer. According to media reports, before extending his contract, there was a gentlemen's agreement between the player and the club, implying that Brighton would not obstruct the player's transfer to the top club.

Liverpool

Liverpool is still considered by bookmakers as a possible Moises Caicedo next club, and until recently, they were indeed interested in the defensive midfielder. However, the FC officially abandoned this idea after the Ecuadorian stated that he would like to join Chelsea. According to reports, after that, Liverpool representatives stopped considering Caicedo and focused on other midfield reinforcement options.

Nevertheless, it still cannot be ruled out that the club will decide to return to negotiations at some point. Liverpool had struck a deal with Brighton over Caicedo but failed to agree personal terms with the 21-year-old. After officially signing for Chelsea, Moises revealed that he only ever wanted to join the Blues, although the fans continue to speculate that the main reason behind this decision was the lengthy eight-year contract offered by the London club.

Arsenal

Arsenal has not been mentioned in the press as a contender for Moises Caicedo, so this option proposed by bookmakers should be treated with a healthy dose of scepticism. Arsenal has already made several significant transfers, including midfield players, to strengthen their squad.

However, judging by such very high odds, the Ecuadorian's move to the Emirates Stadium is only theoretical. Arsenal’s interest in Caicedo was never confirmed by a credible source. So far, the Gunners only signing in the defensive midfielder position remains Declan Rice.

Manchester United

Another unlikely option for the Ecuadorian midfielder is a move to Manchester United. The minimum odds for such a scenario are 26.00, so it seems that Manchester United has been added to this list simply for the sake of quantity. There is also no information in the press about any Manchester club’s interest in Caicedo.

Likewise, Man United were never in the race for the Ecuadorian’s signature, having already strengthened the midfield with Mason Mount earlier this summer.
