Following the international break, the EFL Championship is back with a calendar as busy as ever. After both playing on the weekend, Leicester City and Sunderland will next face each other at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday, October 24. The kick-off is scheduled for 8 pm local time.
The Foxes are seen as the favourites going into the match, as they currently top the league with 33 points after 12 games. Sunderland, however, may still be able to put up a fight as they need to redeem themselves after two consecutive losses. Although we believe that Sunderland are capable of causing some trouble to the hosts, we still see Leicester City likely to get their 12th win of the season in the 2023/24 EFL Championship. The odds on it happening stand at 1.53 on Bet365.
So far, the Foxes have won all of their league matches but for the home clash against Hull City back in September. However, Enzo Maresca’s team looked superior on that day too, they just got unlucky.
Sunderland, on the other hand, have lost three of their last five EFL Championship games. Moreover, those wins came against Sheffield Wednesday and Watford, two teams sitting in the bottom half of the table. While the Black Cats still continue in sixth place, their recent form does not favour them.

It is also important to note that Tuesday’s match will see two of the most attacking sides in the league go against each other. Leicester City have the best attack in the EFL Championship with 26 goals scored, but Sunderland are not that far behind, with an offensive record of 21 goals.
The context also promises a high-scoring game at King Power Stadium. Sunderland are on a run of two consecutive losses and will be motivated to perform at their best against the league leaders. However, this should leave free space at the back, and the Black Cats do not have the most secure backline. Their 14 conceded goals illustrate this point.
