Al Hilal vs Al Nassr Preview

The most anticipated match of the 2023/24 Saudi Pro League is rapidly approaching, as league leaders Al Hilal will be hosting second-placed Al Nassr on Friday, December 1. The kick-off in the Riyadh derby is scheduled for 9 pm local time.

As we will discuss further in our Al Hilal vs Al Nassr prediction, both teams are arriving for the match on Friday in incredible form. Although a win will not be enough for Al Nassr to overtake Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League standings, it will put them in a closer position than ever of doing so.

Al Hilal Preview

Al Hilal have undoubtedly been the best team in the 2023/24 term in Saudi Arabia so far, their first spot is more than deserved. Coached by Jorge Jesus, the Bosses – as they are nicknamed in the country – have been undefeated since the start of the season.

Al Hilal top the table with 38 points after 14 matches, having a record of 12 wins and two draws. With 43 goals scored and just eight conceded, they have the best attack and the best defence in the league – a fact to consider in the Al Hilal vs Al Nassr tips.

The hosts have not dropped points since September, and their first match after the break was an astounding 9-0 win on the road over Al Hazem.

Al Nassr Preview

Al Nassr aren’t much behind in terms of results. The other Riyadh giants, coached by Luis Castro and captained by Cristiano Ronaldo, currently sit in second spot with 34 points after 14 matches. So far, they have recorded 11 wins, one draw and two losses.

With 39 goals scored and 15 conceded, Al Nassr boast the second-best attack in Saudi Arabia, although their defence is not the most secure. After a slow start to the 2023/24 campaign, the visitors are unbeaten in the last 12 league matches.

As far as the Al Hilal vs Al Nassr odds go, the home sides are seen as the favourites although not by a large margin.

Betting Tips Al Hilal vs Al Nassr

Both teams to score? Yes

To kick start our Al Hilal vs Al Nassr prediction, we expect an entertaining match on Friday with goals on both ends. The odds on both teams scoring stand at 1.44 on Bet365.

We have already praised Al Hilal's defence but it bears noting that Jorge Jesus' men have kept seven clean sheets in 14 matches, which is not necessarily impressive. When facing opponents similar in stature – like Al Ahli or Al Ittihad – the Bosses failed to keep their goal shut.

Thus, we believe that Al Nassr with their second-best attack in the league have what it takes to at least score away against Al Hilal. At the same time, it is worthless debating whether the hosts will end up on the scoresheet too. Combine their impressive attack with the visitors’ mediocre defence, and it is almost a guarantee.

Cristiano Ronaldo to score anytime

And speaking about goals, who else to score them if not Cristiano Ronaldo? The Portuguese striker is known for his tendency to show up for the big matches and we expect him to do exactly that on Friday.

The 38-year-old is currently on a great run of form as he scored four goals in the last three appearances in Saudi Pro League. Moreover, he is the leading goal scorer in Saudi Arabia having netted 15 times in 13 league matches. The Portugal captain is yet to open his scoring account against Al Hilal, though.

Curiously, his main competitor in the Golden Boot race is Aleksandr Mitrovic who plays for Al Hilal. The Serb has scored 11 matches this season so far. Although Cristiano Ronaldo remains at a safe distance, he will certainly want to prove himself in front of his rival.

Al Hilal win

We’ve said many positive things about the visitors in our Al Hilal vs Al Nassr tips but we still believe that the home side will get the full points in the Riyadh derby. The odds on that happening are 2.10 on Bet365. And if you want to combine this part with the first one, then the odds on both teams scoring and Al Hilal winning are at 3.50.

Luis Castro’s men are simply too good at the moment. Al Nassr will certainly put up a fight but their shaky defence may end up letting the rest of the team down. Al Hilal, on the other hand, are solid on both ends of the pitch.

Even with Neymar out with an injury, the Bosses have consistently been the best team in the Saudi Pro League. Getting the win on Friday would mean widening the gap between them and Al Nassr to seven points which would be a big step forward towards the title.

Please remember to always gamble responsibly. Our Al Hilal vs Al Nassr prediction are suggestions, not a call to action. Always rely on your own judgement in the end.
