Following Al Hilal’s surprising draw with Damac last week and Al Ittihad win over Al Fateh, the Tigers became the leaders of Saudi Pro League. Now, Al Ittihad will need to beat Al Fayha away on Friday, September 29 in order to continue in the first spot in the league table. The kick-off is scheduled for 4 pm local time.

Al Fayha are not the strongest opponents as they currently sit midtable, having recorded two wins, three draws and two losses in the 2023/24 Saudi Pro League campaign so far. As you will see in our Al Fayha vs Al Ittihad tips, the visitors are viewed as the favourites going into the match.

Both teams to score? No

Coached by Vuk Rasovic, Al Fayha is not in any way the most entertaining team to watch in Saudi Arabia. The Orange have scored eight goals in the seven games so far and have conceded six. In the upcoming match against league-leaders Al Ittihad, Rasovic will likely deploy a defensive formation and will try to limit the Tigers’ attack, only looking for opportunities on the counter or from set pieces.

Al Ittihad, meanwhile, have the best defence in the league (5 conceded goals) and one of the best attacks (18 scored goals). Karim Benzema may still miss the match as he suffered a muscle injury two weeks ago but Al Ittihad still have N’Golo Kante, Fabinho and Romarinho to break down Al Fayha’s defence. This is all to say that Al Ittihad are likely to score but unlikely to concede. William Hill offers 1.70 odds that at least one of the teams will fail to score.

Under 2.5 goals

Considering that both teams have so far proven to be decent defensively, it is reasonable to expect a low-scoring game on Friday. For this reason, William Hill’s 2.30 odds on under 2.5 goals in the game look fairly attractive.

Unlike many other teams in the league, Al Fayha does not boast any big names in their squad. Perhaps the most well-known player is Fashion Sakala who was at Rangers between 2021 and 2023. So, it is no surprise that coach Rasovic is more concerned with not conceding rather than outsourcing the opponent.

Al Ittihad should nevertheless be able to get past their defensive block, but a goalfest – especially if Karim Benzema misses the game again – is rather unlikely.

Al Ittihad win and 3 or more goals

This part of our Al Fayha vs Al Ittihad tips is for those who believe that Al Fayha will be able to score against Al Ittihad but will lose the game anyway. However, you will also win the 3 or more goals and Al Ittihad win bet in case Nuno Espirito Santo’s team beats the home side by at least three goals to nil. William Hill gives 1.73 odds on this event.

Can Al Fayha score past Al Ittihad – maybe, after all, they did score against Al Hilal. However, we’ve already said that the Tigers have the best defence in the league whereas Al Hilal are weaker at the back. Can Al Ittihad score more than three unanswered goals? Also possible, considering that they’ve been able to win matches even in Karim Benzema’s absence.
