Moto3 bikes back for Southern 100

In News, Roads, Southern 100

SOUTHERN 100 Club chiefs have revealed that Moto3 machines will make a return to the Billown Course for 2019.

Previously combined with the 125/400cc Ultra Lightweight class, which was dropped from the club’s programme along with the support races,¬† Moto3 bikes will now race alongside the 250/650 machines at both the Colas Post TT Road Races and the Isle of Man Steam Packet Southern 100 International Road Races.

“The Moto3 racing machines are a relatively new class which has attracted a small number of entries to date,” said Clerk of the Course Peter Oates.

“The club has decided to include them in the 250/650cc races at both the Post TT and Southern 100 races, hoping the entries will continue to grow.”

Regulations for the Southern 100 races will be available on early in 2019.
