Lougher set for Sunflower return

In News

ROADS star Ian Lougher is preparing to line up for his first Sunflower Trophy meeting in over a decade as he returns to Bishopscourt next weekend.

Fresh off a dominant Supertwin performance at the Oliver’s Mount Gold Cup, where he bolstered his own record tally of wins to make it a massive 140 around the Scarborough circuit, the Welshman will now turn his eyes back to short circuits for the traditional season-ending scrap in Northern Ireland.

Lougher last raced at the Sunflower Trophy in 2007 (pictured), but this season he heads back with the Team ILR / Mark Coverdale-backed Patons at his disposal.

While Robert Kennedy scored a pair of top fives aboard the S1-R Supertwins last year, veteran Lougher will be hoping to crack the podium when he hits Bishopscourt on 26 October.
