Locals lead early Post-TT entries

In News, Roads, Southern 100

MANXMEN have a stronghold on early entries for the Southern 100 Club’s Post-TT Road Races with almost eight weeks to go before the closing date.

A number of locals are poised to return to the Colas Billown Course just a day after the madness of the Isle of Man TT fortnight for a three-race programme.

Adam McLean, Joey Thompson and James Cowton shared the spoils last year in a set of record-breaking performances, but Onchan’s Nathan Harrison, who bagged a top-1o in last year’s 600cc race along with best newcomer spoils, will be looking to make a bid for the top step in both the Supersport and 1100cc scraps.

Douglas riders Matt Mylchreest and Frankie Stennett, as well as Kirk Michael man Mike Brew, will also be out in the 600 races, as the latter two, like Harrison, double up and throw their hats into the 1100 battle as well.

While a Paton, like the one Thompson took to a nearly 10s winning margin last year, is yet to appear on the entry list, the combined 650cc/250cc Lightweight race will feature both four strokes and two trokes as Lower Foxdale’s Steven Beale will line up on his Kawasaki Supertwin while Ramsey’s Stephen Ault pilots the TZ250 Yamaha he notched up a top-10 with last year.

Entries for the Post TT Road Races close 7 May.
