STEPHEN Kershaw and Stuart Clark destroyed the competition this past weekend to claim their third Jock Taylor Trophy win on the bounce and fourth overall.
The reigning British Sidecar champs qualified on pole and swept the third round of Knockhill Motor Sports Club action, winning the opening three races by a combined margin of almost two minutes.
Gordon Shand and Tony Belsey shared runner-up finishes with Hadleigh Amos and Sandy Mayhew as well as Peter O’Neill and Brian Butler.
But with a new track record of 53.685, Kershaw and Clarke powered almost 40sec clear of Shand and Belsey as they joined the likes of Steve Webster and Barry Brindley as four-time Jock Taylor winners.
Back in the fight for third in the feature race, Amos and Taylor edged out O’Neill and Butler to take the final rostrum spot.
“It was great out there, it was really hot when you stopped but it was good,” Kershaw admitted. “It’s nice to have our names back on the trophy, that was our objective for this weekend and to get under the lap record as well.
“A 53.6 is mega, that’s on old rubber as well – a new set of boots and you’d find half a second. We’re really chuffed, we enjoyed it and it was good fun.”
