Jinks and Joey back for Thundersport Supertwins assault

In News, Thundersport GB

SUPERTWIN supremo Paul Jinks has signed Joey Thompson to take on Thundersport GB as he unveils his latest creation for the 2019 season.

The bike building ace is back in the paddock with his SVR19 machine, and is raring to go with the young road and short circuit star behind the windscreen.

Jinks and Thompson first joined forces in 2017, where they split wins with former champ Jonny Towers in Thompson’s first go at Supertwin racing.

Thompson’s intro to the Supertwins class threw a spanner in the works for championship leader Jonny Towers as the two split wins in 2017…

And the perfect match went on to sweep the Thundersport finale at Donington Park that year as the Yorkshireman busted the club’s lap record with runaway victories.

Thompson’s racing future had been in doubt after he announced he was looking to call time on his roads career last month, but with Trickbits boss Jinks back in action, the pair look to be on for even more success this year.

“I’m really happy to have Joey back on board,” Jinks told UK Clubsport. “I was really impressed after he rode my bike for the first time ever riding a Supertwin in 2017 at Anglesey and won 2 of the races.

“The SVR19 is ready to go to Brands Hatch for next weekend’s assault on the Supertwin championships. Unfortunately we have had no time for testing, but it’s very similar to the bike I built last year but for a few changes hopefully for the better.

“We have a test day so hopefully he’ll get the bike set up for race day and we can have good start to the season. We might be looking at some other events as well, including Oliver’s Mount with another one of my bikes…”
