JOHN Holden and Lee Cain set the Sidecar pace this afternoon as Isle of Man TT racers finally got back in action on the Mountain Course.

Following days of disruptive weather, the Silicone Barnes Racing duo clocked the exact same time they did on Tuesday at 114.99mph to lead the outfit times.

Second quickest were bookies’ favourites Ben and Tom Birchall on the Haith LCR just over half a second slower as they set a 114.93.

FSRA British F2 champs Pete Founds and Jevan Walmsley put their Rowtec machine third on the leaderboard with a 114.40 while Pete’s brother Alan and his chairman Jake Lowther went fourth quickest with a 112.35.

TT legend Dave Molyneux and Harry Payne set a 109.43 to go fifth fastest on the DMR/A&J Racing bike.

Tim Reeves and Mark Wilkes suffered issues on the ex-Ian Bell outfit, while Lewis Blackstock/Patrick Rosney and rookie Manxmen Ryan and Callum Crowe were also among the retirees.
