Isle of Man TT: Holden and Cain fastest in opening Sidecar qualifying

JOHN Holden and Lee Cain set the fastest time of tonight’s first official Sidecar practice session as the outfits took to the TT circuit.

Last year’s double-runner-up duo put the Silicone Engineering/Barnes Racing LCR Honda at the top of the timesheets with a 113.663 on their opening lap.

Ben and Tom Birchall went second fastest as they clocked a 110.937 before hitting the pits for a chain length adjustment, but the reigning champs and six-time winners suffered on their second lap with issues that prevented them from going any quicker.

On the brand new DMR outfit, Dave Molyneux and Dan Sayle put in a 110.508mph lap to end the night third fastest, ahead of Alan Founds and Jake Lowther with a 110.338, while British FSRA F2 champs Peter Founds and Jevan Walmsley completed the top five with a 108.851.
