GERMAN road racer David Datzer has revealed he is preparing to make his Isle of Man TT debut this season.

The IRRC racer, who finished fifth in the Superbike class on the international scene last year, will contest both Monster Energy Supersport races on a Suzuki GSX-R600.

Datzer joins a growing list of racers from the mainland European series, including Lucas Maurer, who have thrown their hats in the ring to take on the Mountain Course.

And while he’s already begun working with Rider Liaison Officers Richard ‘Milky’ Quayle and Jonny Barton, the 26-year-old admitted be no easy task to learn the circuit.

“The TT Race is the ultimate test for a motorcycle racer and I’m under no illusion about the challenge that I’m taking on,” Datzer said.

“My recent visit to the Isle of Man and my time with Richard and John not only showed me how much preparation is required but also really got me excited for my TT debut this year.

“I’m looking forward to continuing German participation in the meeting and I will be dedicating myself to preparing as well as possible for my TT debut.”
