Irish Sea Match Races returning to Jurby

GRAND Prix 50cc machines are set for a return to Jurby this summer as racers gear up for the annual Irish Sea Match Races.

While it was an event previously run on Jurby’s kart track, riders will now have the opportunity to wring the throttles of their diminutive GP bikes on the full circuit.

And in place of Peel’s Kipper road race, which will return in 2020, the Kipper Dash will be tacked onto the end of the July 6th Match Races for those wishing to duke it out on a smaller track.

Along with a plop enduro race to boot, which has already pulled in a heap of entries, event bosses have also revealed the possibility of holding 80cc or 125cc races should they see enough interest.

To aid those travelling to the island, just days before the Southern 100 Road Races are due to kick off, the Steam Packet Company is providing discounted rates for travel and accommodation.

Entry fees are £60 for 2 races on the long circuit and a one off Kipper Dash on a shorter track.
