ROAD racing funnyman Dominic Herbertson has taken over a slice of the airwaves after launching a brand new podcast with BSB and Superstock 1000 rider Chrissy Rouse.
The Northumberland joker has teamed up with fellow northerner Rouse to create their own regular podcast, Chasin’ the Racin’, which will cover all things bike racing.
The pair kicked-off with their first broadcast earlier this week, following an idea dreamed up by Rouse last year after they appeared together at a North Yorkshire Road Racing Supporters Club event.
But it took a little time to get off the ground, mainly because Herbertson had no idea what a podcast was.
“Chrissy had mentioned we should do one but I didn’t know what he was even talking about,” he laughed. “I live out in the middle of nowhere, we’re all a good 10 years behind everyone else out there and stuff like that I didn’t have a clue about.
“But once he’d told me more and I’d actually gone away, looked into it and listened to a couple thought it was great. We wanted to do something together because we get on well and have a laugh and we both love talking about motorbike racing so it seemed ideal.”
After several hours of trying to get to grips with the technology, Herbertson and Rouse posted their first podcast earlier this week, discussing their previous seasons and plans for the year ahead.
Future shows are set to include special guests and interviews along with a light-hearted look at everything going on in the racing scene – including the clubs, we’re reliably informed.
“We’ve had a really good response to the first one and it’s got us all fired up with loads of ideas for the next couple of shows,” said Rouse. “I’m really happy we’ve got this off the ground because we’ve been talking about it for months.
“Once I’d managed to get Dom up to speed with what the rest of us living in the 21st Century are doing for entertainment these days, he was well up for it. He’s perfect for this because he’s so funny and he never runs out of things to say, which is ideal.
“We’re still learning the ropes but we’re really keen to make this work so we just hope people will take the time to give us a listen.”
