ROADS ace Dom Herbertson will be hitting the short circuits this season as he teams up with DC Racing for an assault on Thundersport GB.
The top-10 Isle of Man TT finisher, who lapped just a whisker off the 130mph mark in 2019, joins fellow roads man Mike Norbury in the squad as the two look to tackle the club’s flagship GP1 Elite ranks.
In addition to classic outings with the CRMC and roads action on Cowton Racing’s Supertwin and 600 machinery, Herbertson now adds a big bike to his stable under team owner Dean Livesey and Chris Barnes’ banner.
“I’m very lucky to be riding a Superstock ZX-10 for DC Racing at Thundersport this year,” the Geordie revealed on the latest Chasin’ the Racin’ podcast this week.

“I came to the end of last year and saw that I wanted and needed more track time, and Dean and Chris stepped up to the plate.”
Team boss Livesey also believes, at least for now, the club scene – rather than the national championship – is the right place to help push Herbertson on.
“Looking at the amount Mike has come on in the last 12 months with limited track time, hopefully we can replicate that,” Livesey added. “Dom can obviously ride a bike, he’s done a 129.9 at the TT and he’s good craic as well.
“I’d rather have the lads at the top five or top seven in Thundersport than getting battered in the top 30 of Superstock, that’s absolutely no good for confidence. We’re just using this to build for the roads because that’s what these lads do.”
Livesey and Barnes will themselves be racing at select No Limits outings as Barnes joins Norbury and Herbertson in the fight for GP1 Elite honours.
