ROADS star Gary Johnson has revealed he’ll be heading to the clubs this season in a bid to get his 2019 road racing campaign on the right track.
The former Isle of Man TT winner will be taking on a full season of No Limits Racing’s new Triumph 765RS Cup to keep bike fit ahead of the North West 200, TT and Macau Grand Prix.
“I’ve worked with Triumph for a few years now, and we thought it would be a great project to get involved with the new No Limits class,” he told UK Clubsport.
“I’ll be building up a bike for the 765 Cup to do the whole season and I’ll also be taking my own Kawasaki ZX10 to do all the Sprint and Endurance races leading up to the TT. It’ll be a fair old bit of bike time and it should keep me sharp for the big road races.
“Really, I just want to tick more boxes than I have done in the past couple of seasons. If I can arrive at the North West and the TT better prepared than I did last year, with more miles under my belt, we should be able to give ’em a good crack.”
