SIDECAR passenger Jack Tritton and his late partner in the pilot’s seat, Barry James, have taken a landslide victory to win the F1 Sidecar of the Year award.
The BMCRC RKB F1 championship pair bagged the accolade with an overwhelming 48 per cent of readers’ votes.
Stephen Kershaw and Stuart Clark, who finished nearly every British Sidecar Championship race just behind title winners Tim and Tristan Reeves and also took the Jock Taylor Trophy at Knockhill, earned 30 per cent of the votes to finish second.
James and Tritton dominated the Bemsee club scene this year, storming to 24 victories out of 31 races, winning all but one of the races they finished.
They also put their Difuria Contractors LCR Kawasaki on the British Championship rostrum three times, finishing second at Brands Hatch and taking two thirds at Snetterton and Cadwell.
The sidecar community paid tribute to James, who tragically lost his life in a road traffic accident in late October, with an extremely popular memorial lap at the Cadwell Park Sidecar Bash.
