IRISH Minibike chiefs have launched yet another scholarship programme in a bid to boost young riders up the racing ladder.

And off the back of the 2021 Dualways IMC Scholarship, which is set to go to Alex McCalmont, Ireland’s youngsters now have yet another way to move up the ladder.

Late last year, IMC bosses were approached by Chris Lennox of CoreCut Ireland, who offered the use of his Kayo MR150 machine to a promising rider with hopes of joining the IMC Junior MiniGP grid.

And having experienced the paddock himself as part of his son Reece’s racing efforts, Chris was keen to offer an opportunity to another up-and-comer.

Riders age 9-14 years old are eligible to apply as are all current members and non-members.

Experience will be taken into account but chiefs say this will not be the overriding factor in deciding the scholarship recipient.

The winner will receive full use of the CoreCut Kayo MR150 for the 2021 season, all entry fees paid for the IMC Junior MiniGP championship and additional guidance and advice.

Interested riders must complete and return the application form before entries close on Friday March 12.
