Darley Moor to allow 700cc twins in new-look class structure for 2020

With two rounds still to run, Carson has reclaimed the MSoT title...

CHIEFS at Darley Moor MCRRC have revealed changes to their class structure for 2020 which will allow 700cc twins to duke it out with the 650s.

The club’s Twins class, which this season featured a displacement limit of 650cc for four-stroke two-cylinders along with 820cc for air-cooled two-strokes, is broadening its horizons next season and allowing a host of other bikes to join the party.

With the new 700cc limit for the upcoming year, Darley joins Thundersport GB in allowing machines such as the Yamaha MT07 and Aprilia’s new RS660 to join the party against Supertwins. But no over-bores are allowed, meaning Suzuki SV and ER6/Z650 Kawasaki fans will have to stick with the stock 650cc.

The Twins class will take over what was previously known as the Mini Sound of Thunder category, while it looks as if the Sound of Thunder class itself is no more.
