CRMC racers are set to get their season underway in less than four weeks’ time as chiefs announce a four-round 2020 season which kicks off next month.
After the Bennetts British Superbike championship and the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship took over two of the classic club’s dates, bosses were forced to rethink the calendar.
But with new dates now in place, CRMC officials today broke the news. A statement reads:
We’re delighted to confirm that providing all government restrictions are lifted, we’re going to be starting our 2020 season at Cadwell Park on 11 and 12 July.
As previous communications have stated, our Donington Park round has been acquired by the BSB championship.
Unfortunately, our Croft meeting has had the same fate with the British Touring Car Championship taking the weekend. Croft is limited on the amount of noise days they can run, so unfortunately Croft have withdrawn our date.
The CRMC have been in talks with other circuits surrounding a replacement date for our Race of the Year meeting and we’re delighted to announce that we’ve secured a date at Pembrey on 26 and 27 September.
Providing all government restrictions are lifted, the CRMC are planning to run a four-meeting calendar for the 2020 season.
CRMC 2020 race dates (provisional):
Round 1: Cadwell Park – 11-12 July
Round 2: Darley Moor – 22-23 August
Round 3: Anglesey – 5-6 September
Round 4: Pembrey (Race of the Year) – 26-27 September
