Coward leads Post TT Road Race entries

In News, Roads, Southern 100

BILLOWN winner Jamie Coward is set to head back to the Southern course in just a few weeks as he leads a bumper entry list for the Colas Post TT Road Races.

And fresh off his Supertwin pole position at the North West 200, the Yorkshireman could be one of the riders to beat.

Coward, who last won at the Post TT in 2017 as he and the late James Cowton shared wins, will be back at Billown for another run at the trophies with entries in all three races aboard the PreZ Racing R6 and R1 as well as the KTS Racing Supertwin, the latter of which he used to take second at last week’s North West.

But he won’t have it all his own way with the likes of Supersport entries including Michael Evans, Ryan Kneen, Nathan Harrison and Mark Goodings among those vying for glory.

And in the Supertwin scrap, four of the top six finishers from last year – Jonathan Perry, Rob Hodson, Jamie Williams and Dave Moffitt – will all be gunning for glory.

In the blue riband Superbike race, another previous event winner – 2015 champ Kneen – will be throwing his hat in the ring for top honours alongside fellow locals Evans, Harrison, Dean Osborne and Jamie Williams as well as Goodings, Perry, Hodson, Michael Russell and Rhys Hardisty.

The 2019 Colas Post TT Road Races take place on Saturday, 8 June, with practice between 1pm ahead of racing between 5pm and 8pm.
