JOSH Day made amends for yesterday’s disappointment as he left Silverstone on top with another Ducati TriOptions Cup win over Elliott Pinson.
After crashing out of an almost assured victory in race one on Saturday, the Host-it.co.uk Racing rider was determined to get back on top of the box and keep his title rival at bay.
In almost a repeat of yesterday’s performance, Day and Pinson took off early as they set the pace with Chris Walker and David Shoubridge again settling into their own battle for third.
But it was all brought to a halt on lap six as Sam Cox’s crash left debris and barrier damage to be tidied, prompting red flags before riders lined back up for a six-lap dash.
When action got back underway, it was exactly as before as Day fought to keep SymCirrus Motorsport’s Pinson at bay while 4T2 Racing’s Walker tussled with Rich Energy man Shoubridge.
Day and Pinson went tit for tat and despite the youngster setting the fastest lap of the race en route to the chequered flag, it wasn’t enough and Day held on by 0.060sec to bank another win.
In another swap of yesterday’s finish, Walker was the man on the box this time with a similar margin of just 0.068sec over Shoubridge as the BSB veteran snatched the final rostrum spot.
