LEVI Day picked up his second win on the bounce today after beating series leader Josh Day in today’s Ducati TriOptions Cup race.
The BPS Racing rider scooped victory after a late dice with Host-it.co.uk’s defending champ before red flags curtailed action early.
Silverstone winner Levi took the lead early on ahead of Josh and Elliott Pinson as the Aussie led the field for the opening few laps.
But it wasn’t long before Pinson was sticking his nose in as the teen took the lead on lap five with the Days just behind.
Just as the race crossed half distance, however, the SymCirrus/Massingberd Mundy rider was down and out after what looked like a collision with Levi Day as the Aussie tried to pass the youngster, leaving Pinson on the deck and out of the race.
With four laps remaining and the fight back to usual between the two Day boys, Josh rode around the outside of Levi at Island Bend to take the lead.
But BPS Racing’s Levi moved back ahead the very next time around as the battle rolled on into the final two laps.
The fight was all over with two laps to go, however, as red flags for a crash back in the field brought the result back a lap and gave Levi the win over Josh.
AH Performance’s David Shoubridge, now on a V2 machine, crossed the line in a distant third with Lund Group’s John McGuinness fourth and Sam Cox fifth.
