STEVE Kershaw and Ryan Charlwood stretched their Molson Group British Sidecar championship lead with a dominant win in today’s final race.
The Quattro Group/Santander Salt squad made it a lights-to-flag victory in a masterclass performance, crossing the line more than seven seconds clear of trouble.
Former champ Kershaw and passenger Charlwood made a blinding start as they tore ahead of the pack and with just two laps in the bag, the duo had a massive 6.874sec advantage.
As Sam and Adam Christie moved into second, Gray and Cole dropped down the order, leaving Silicone Barnes Racing’s Lewis Blackstock and Paddy Rosney to move into third as the fight was on behind for fourth with Pete Founds and Jevan Walmsley leading Phil Bell and James Connell.
While the top four stretched out, FSRA F2 champs Founds and Walmsley fought to get the better of race one podium finishers Tommy Philp and Tom Bryant, just a few tenths behind Marin Motorsport’s Bell and Connell.
But back at the front, it was smooth sailing for Kershaw and Charlwood as they cruised across the line to win by some eight seconds.
The Christies clinched a lone second some five seconds clear of Blackstock and Rosney, while DDM Suzuki boys Founds and Walmsley looked to scoop fourth before an issue put them out of the race with just a few corners to go.
With their demise, Bell and Connell clinched fourth as Roberts Constructions/Tops Autos’ Philp and Bryant rounded out the top five.
