Bemsee: Grads gear up for British in Team Green showdown

TEAM Green Junior Cup graduates duked it out at Brands Hatch over the weekend as they geared up for the start of the British championship season next month.

Junior Supersport-bound reigning champ Owen Jenner shared the spoils with Tinker brothers Kyal and Corey, who are both headed for the HEL Performance British Motostar class this season along with a host of club assaults.

As the ACU Team Green Junior Cup and Senior Ninja series got underway for the new season it was Senior-class rider Harry Fowle who kicked off his weekend at the top, grabbing pole position by just 0.066s on the Bernard Elliot Racing Ninja 400, ahead of Kyal and Kam Dixon.

Tinker (41) and Jenner battled it out in the first two scraps…

When the lights went out for race one, however, Jenner shot ahead of the pack from the second row and immediately pulled a few tenths over Tinker. But Tinker made a pass on lap four, stretching a half second lead before being swallowed up again by Jenner, who held on at the line to bag the win by just 0.135s.

Delicious Race Wear’s Dixon took the final Junior podium spot, while last year’s Senior Cup runner-up Kai Dickinson cruised to the Senior win.

Jenner took the lead again in race two, but Aquatix-2u’s Tinker didn’t let him get far and by half distance, the latter lined up a move and made it stick, holding on for another four laps before crossing the line almost half a second clear as Lewis Jones took third while Dickinson grabbed another Senior victory.

Sunday’s opening race resulted in a Tinker one-two, as Kyal took the win ahead of Corey as Dixon took another third and Tony Davies nabbed Senior honours.

Jenner took one win as the Tinkers shared the others…

It looked like another Tinker one-two could be on the cards in the final race of the weekend, but it all went wrong on lap four when Kyal crashed out of the lead, handing the lead and the eventual win to brother Corey.

The battle for the remaining two spots was covered by just half a second, as Jenner and Dixon denied Jones another podium finish while Davies’s fifth gave him another Senior win.

Despite their strong weekend, the top three are not eligible for championship points so the results will do nothing to hamper the series regulars’ chances.
