RYAN and Callum Crowe took a hat-trick of wins as they rocked up to the opening round of Bemsee’s RKB-F1 and F2 Sidecar series at Brands Hatch.
The Manx brothers brought out their new LCR R6 Yamaha which they will run in the British Sidecar Championship this season, banking three wins from three races.
Also joining the fun were Dave Molyneux and Harry Payne, who’d also made the trip over from the Isle of Man to test the new LCR Yamaha which they will run in the British F2 series.
The Crowes took both Saturday’s overall and F1 class victories as Molyneux and Payne crossed the line second but top F2, while former British Supersport rider Tommy Philp and Jonny Allum were third over the line and second in the F1 ranks.
It was the same result for race two, as the Crowes led over the line ahead of Moly and Payne as the first F2 outfit home.
The Crowes powered to further victory in the first of Sunday’s two races and with no Moly and Payne on the grid, Michael Jackson and Sarah Stokoe grabbed second as the first F2 pair home as Kevin Cable and Kyle Masters finished third.
The Crowes took an early finish and missed the final race, leaving Philp to take his first ever sidecar win with Allum, as Cable and Masters came home second. Jackson and Stokoe took another F2 win after crossing the line third.
“The tyres were showing signs of wear and losing grip so we decided to get a head start on the long journey north back to catch the ferry home with three great wins under our belts,” said Ryan Crowe.
“The bike was built back in September with a CES built engine, electronics and full Yamaha R6 setup. This weekend was our first outing with the new outfit and we adapted to it straight away. It felt similar to driving a car compared to the smaller outfit and it handled very well.”
