JAMIE Coward rounded out a near-perfect weekend of Supertwins action at Oliver’s Mount as he chalked up another two dominant wins today.
After sharing wins with Ian Lougher yesterday, KTS Racing’s main man was no match for the opposition on the final day of the Barry Sheene Classic with victories by no less than seven seconds today to make it three wins and a hat-trick.
Coward scorched out of the blocks in race one and led VRS Racing’s Brad Vicars by a monstrous six seconds after just one lap, but Hind was on the move in third and slipped ahead of Vicars for second before Herbertson followed Hind through to snatch third.
At the front, however, Hind’s charge on the ILR Paton could only narrow the gap as Coward crossed the line with 7.2sec in hand while Cowton Racing’s Herbertson took a lone third.
It was more of the same in race two as Coward needed just one lap to grab a 1.5sec lead over Herbertson as the Patons of Hind and Ian Lougher did battle for third a few seconds back.
As Coward continued romping away at the front, it was Hind who got past his team boss as Lougher dropped to fourth with just two laps to go and the 20-year-old held on to scoop third, less than a second behind Herbertson but more than 11sec off Coward.
