ABERDARE Park bosses are forging ahead with plans to race this summer after announcing tentative race dates yesterday.
While the Welsh Government has yet to drop a definitive date for the full-scale return of motorsport, Park chiefs are laying the groundwork in anticipation of racing’s comeback.
But, as with many other road racing events, the party in the the park depends wholly on the permitted return of trackside punters.
A statement from the organising Aberaman Motorcycle Club chairman Derek Smith reads:
“Our CoC Ian Mcleod and myself have been busy behind the scenes getting permits and various permissions in place, as have the park team, making sure everything is in hand for us to be able to bring you our fantastic event.
“Of course, this will be subject to the ease of covid rules and being permitted to run with spectators.
“As an an event we are happy to relay that it is our intention to run on 7-8 August 2021.”
Riders are urged to submit entries as soon as possible, as the event is anticipated to fill up fast.
