ROAD racers could be in the running to win over £3000 as Southern 100 bosses reveal the Hunt’s Motorcycles 600cc Challenge Race for 2018.

Brand new for this year, the event will be made up of the 28 fastest riders from races five and seven (600cc races), in addition to four other competitors who will be selected by the organisers.

As with the other supersport duels, the race will be for solo machines of over 450cc but not exceeding 600cc
four-cylinder four-stroke, 675cc three-cylinder four-stoke and 750cc twin-cylinder four-strokes.

The winner of the seven-lap challenge will bag £900 from the £3,345 total prize fund for the final race of the 2018 Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Southern 100 International Road Races.

“We are delighted to be able to sponsor this new race,” said John Brown, Managing Director of Hunt’s Motorcycles. “Here at Hunts Motorcycles we are fans of real roads events and have visited the Southern 100 many times in the past, always finding a warm welcome and enjoying fantastic racing.
