Melville MC announces 2018 calendar

In Melville, News, Scottish Championship

SCOTTISH racers can look forward to another season of action at East Fortune after Melville Motor Club chiefs have announced race and test dates for 2018.

The East Lothian circuit, which this year played host to the annual Bob McIntyre Classic, Ian Bell Memorial and the NEMCRC, will once again hold a four-event Melville championship, with select dates also forming part of the Scottish Championship.

Two-wheeled action at East Fortune kicks off on the last weekend of March with a new rider assessment course on Saturday, followed by a practice day on Sunday.

Racing begins a month later with round one before an 11-week break before leading up to round two in mid-July, then round three in mid-August.

The final round of the series will take place once again on the third weekend of September, and as with this year the FSRA’s F350/Post-Classic/Pre-Injection series will join Melville MC for a round of their own campaign.

Melville MC provisional 2018 race calendar:

24 March: SACU New Rider Assessment, Rider Development sessions

25 March: Practice Day

28-29 April: Round 1

14-15 July: Round 2

11-12 August: Round 3

22-23 September: Round 4 (including FSRA F350/Post-Classic/Pre-Injection series)
