Manx GP winner Stevenson set for 2019 People’s Bike TT debut

MANX Grand Prix winner Matt Stevenson has inked a deal to make the step up to the Isle of Man TT next year as he joins Rhys Hardisty in The People’s Bike team.

Stevenson, who took the Senior MGP win last month after a tight battle with Stephen Parsons, will make his maiden TT appearance with the team as Hardisty returns to the fold after his best-ever finishes earlier this season, with a highest results of 34th in the Superbike race.

Team manager Janice Thompson admits the team is elated to welcome back Hardisty and be a part of taking Stevenson to the blue riband IOMTT. And she even revealed there could be a slot still to fill with the squad’s MGP rider Parsons still without plans.

” Rhys brings a wealth of experience to the team and will be a great mentor and team mate for Matt,” she said. “With five starts and five finishes at his first TT this year, Rhys proved he has the ability to compete at the highest level.”

“We haven’t forgotten our other Manx GP hero, Stephen Parsons. We’re currently working on a plan for [him] which we’ll share soon.”
