ISLE of Man government officials have revealed that more than 80 per cent of Festival of Motorcycling visitors cited the Manx Grand Prix as their main attraction.
A survey distributed at the end of last year also showed that less than 50 per cent of said visitors came to see the Classic TT in 2017.
While the Festival of Motorcycling enters just its sixth year in 2018, the numbers show an 82 per cent increase in attendance over 2009 when similar data collection began.
Visitors spent a whopping £10 million estimated in total at the most recent road races, which gave the Isle of Man government a healthy boost of £1.3 million in revenue.
For those not bothered with the percentages, ratios and data – the Festival of Motorcycling is growing. And by survey indications, the Manx Grand Prix could be the reason.
