Lewis Paterson crowned Scottish and KMSC Lightweight champ

In KMSC, News, Scottish Championship

LEWIS Paterson scorched to the Scottish and Knockhill Lightweight championship titles as the KMSC season drew to a close on Sunday.

Just a week on since earning his spot in the 2018 British Talent Cup, the 16-year-old dominated the Fife club’s final event of the season as it ran the Knockhill circuit in reverse.

The teenager added another five winners trophies to the Paterson family’s collection…

Paterson, who emerged an early season favourite for both titles way back in the spring, has had an impressive season aboard his Cupar Motorcycles Suzuki SV650.

Heading into the KMSC’s last round he had his eyes on grabbing as much silverware as possible – and he more than delivered.

Starting the weekend off nicely with pole, Paterson stormed to five wins and with them both the KMSC and Scottish Lightweight titles – along with another five trophies to add to the burgeoning Paterson trophy cabinet.

“I’m over the moon with how this season has gone for me,” he told UK Clubsport. “This year I have been consistent enough to win the titles, and to finish it off with five wins was the best feeling.”

With the British Talent Cup among his plans for 2018, we predict we’ll be hearing a lot more from Paterson next season…
