DEAN Harrison scorched to the top of the timesheets in this evening’s first night of practice at the Isle of Man TT as Michael Dunlop broke the Lightweight lap record.
In his first competitive outing aboard the Paton S1R, Dunlop scorched to a 120.875mph lap to break James Hillier’s 2015 race record of 120.848.
Former Lightweight winner Ivan Lintin went second fastest just two seconds further back with a 120.660 on his Dafabet Devitt Racing Kawasaki machine.
KMR Kawasaki pilots Derek McGee and Peter Hickman took third and fourth with a 117.571 and a 117.508, respectively, while another Paton rider, Stefano Bonetti, rounded out the top five with a 117.119.
In the Supersport ranks, Harrison set the fastest time of the night with a 125.797, less than half a second faster than the CBR600RR of Dunlop and Padgett’s Racing man Cummins.
The Manxman had set the fastest time from the off, pushing his Honda to a 123.209, but Harrison’s fourth lap of six gave him the quickest time of the evening, 0.479s clear of Dunlop.
Jackson Racing’s Kneen set the fourth fastest time with a 124.703, while Triumph-mounted Hickman went fifth with a 124.447.
