Internationals bolster teeming Pre-TT Classic entries

RACERS from all over Europe are queuing up to compete in this year’s Blackford Financial Services Pre-TT Classic Road Races.

And with more than 150 entries received and still eight weeks to go before registration closes, race organisers are gearing up for a busy weekend in Billown where, like 2017, more records could be broken.

While former solo winners Barry Davidson, Ewan Hamilton, Rich Hawkins, and Jamie Coward are set to return for another run at gold, the sidecar paddock looks to be a melting pot of internationals.

Returning to the Pre-TT Races will be Dutch duos Kobus Bouman/Nicolai Klinker and Anja Braas/Diana Bouman, while Frenchman Patrick Geffray also returns with lady racer and FSRA Post-Classic race winner Sarah Stokoe.

At least two outfit crews will make their Billown debuts as Frenchmen Claude Derlannoy and passenger Daniel Giroud and Belgian’s Ronny Van Wynsbergh with Jeffrey Vromant take to the course.

The event celebrates its 30th anniversary on May 25, 26 and 27, directly ahead of the Isle of Man TT Races which kick off the same weekend.
